Puyallup

Community and convenience wrapped up into one dynamic city.

Best known for its truly wonderful sense of community, many young families find a sense of comfort in choosing Puyallup as their home. Conveniently nestled among the nearby hubs of Tacoma, Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Seattle, Puyallup is a top choice for commuters who want the slower pace of the suburbs with the option of city life only a short drive away.

Downtown Puyallup’s historic neighborhoods rest in the Puyallup Valley alongside the newer developments of South Hill, and the expansion of the city promises residents a unique blend of tradition and modernity. Puyallup’s community cherishes annual festivities— especially the Washington State Fair (still known as The Puyallup Fair by locals!) and the popular Daffodil Festival!

The city’s myriad of conveniences include dynamic shopping centers (complete with restaurants, department stores and trendy clothing stores), a diverse selection of restaurants (from famous chains to one-of-a-kind joints) and everything else in between. And then, just down the street from every bustling place of business, there awaits a lush park that shows off Puyallup’s dedication to enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

The Washington State Fair The state fair is a huge two-week long attraction each September, bringing in people from all over the state. The Fairgrounds, located in downtown Puyallup, also host events just about every single weekend throughout the year.

South Hill Mall A hub of activity, the South Hill Mall is newly renovated and has a variety of larger department stores like Macy’s and JCPenney alongside other popular stores inside the mall.

Sunrise Village The newest shopping center in Puyallup, Sunrise Village features a 24-Hour Fitness, Target, Staples, PetSmart, Party City, and lots of restaurant options!

Daffodil Festival Named after the fields and fields of daffodils that the Puyallup Valley is known for, the Daffodil Festival is an annual event in Pierce County that culminates with the famous Daffodil Parade.

The Sounder The Sounder Station in downtown provides residents with convenient access to neighboring cities— the Sounder train runs from Tacoma to Seattle (with stops along the way) in the morning and evening each weekday (the trains run on Seahawks game days, too).

Pioneer Park This central spot hosts the seasonal farmer’s market, as well as a concert series in the summertime.

Good Samaritan Hospital Located right between downtown and South Hill is Multicares Good Samaritan Hospital, a huge presence in the community that offers state-of-the-art medical facilities for people of all ages.
