Exciting Times Are On The Horizon At Pierce County Summer Camps

Community Post Professional Headshot of Community Post April 5, 2018

When it comes to camps that keep kids moving and engaged all summer, Pierce County is brimming with possibilities! Registrations are open! Check out these camps destined to inspire the very best “What I Did On My Summer Vacation” essays come September:

Rollin’ 253 Skate & Community Center Summer Camp

2101 W Mildred St., Fircrest, WA 98466
2018 Registration is open now.

DeAnne Davidson’s top Pierce County camp pick is 253Skate at 19th and Mildred.

“They have all-day all-week camps for kids,” says DeAnne. “It's a Montessori setting, so kids may not all be doing the same thing at the same time.”

This 12-week camp is in its fifth year. It starts in June and runs weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. And don’t let the word "skate" in the name fool you. From arts and crafts and dance classes to field trips and even a baking class, 253Skate camp is full of creative activities to keep kids active and engaged, not just rolling in circles!

Campers even spend some of their time giving back to their community through the “Doing Good” program. It teams them up to volunteer with local resources like the Emergency Food Network, the Tacoma Rescue Mission and the Northwest Furniture Bank.
