Having relocated from Japan to Pierce County in the late 80s in a military family, REALTOR® Katsumi Purbeck has a long history in Tacoma and the surrounding areas. Katsumi and his wife, dog, cat, and three chickens recently moved to Vashon Island to be closer to family, but Katsumi’s love for Tacoma has kept him practicing real estate in Pierce County.
Before becoming a REALTOR®, Katsumi worked in banking for 23 years. His deep experience ranges from lending to consumer and commercial retail banking, to special credits (workout, litigation, foreclosures). He has served customers and clients throughout the greater Puget Sound area, and has a reputation in the community for offering a high level of customer service.
That’s the notable difference you’ll find with Katsumi – his high level of service and great communication, coupled with his first-hand knowledge of the lending side of the transaction. Katsumi is dedicated to his clients and finding them a home or investment that meets their needs. As a Certified Negotiator Expert, he’ll get the deal done to your greatest advantage.
Katsumi’s friends call him Kat, and you can, too. He’s never met a person he didn’t find commonality with, and many of his clients become friends.
Q: What can clients expect when working with you? How do you typically communicate with them?
A: I consider myself to be an effective communicator, and I strive to put my best foot forward in all situations. I carefully listen, and I’m an attentive, detail-oriented, organized, and goal-oriented person.
Q: Tell us more about the kind of real estate you specialize in! What neighborhoods do you work in?
A: My focus is on representing sellers and buyers of single-family residences in the North End of Tacoma and surrounding areas. I'm also a great resource for any questions you may have surrounding lending in commercial real estate and how banks generally view underwriting criteria.
