The 4 Best Things About the Fircrest Golf Club
A must-visit destination for golf enthusiasts in Pierce County, the picturesque Fircrest Golf Course is tucked away in the small community of Fircrest and offers a yearly membership option. Opened back in 1924, the course was designed by Arthur Vernon Macon, a renowned golf course designer. Not only is the club rich in history, but the golf club contributes to the city of Fircrest’s strong sense of community.
The club’s special 18-hole course is certainly worth the visit alone, but there’s so much more to take advantage of when you stop by! We asked REALTOR® Austin Wagner what his 4 favorite things are about the golf club, and here’s what he shared with us:
1. Excellent family-friendly activities in addition to golf.
According to Austin, Fircrest Golf Course is a “very family-oriented club. They aim their swimming program toward kids, and welcome people of all ages.” Plus, the swimming pool is open throughout the summer, ensuring you always have something to do when the kids are out of school!
2. Gorgeous, photo-worthy Fircrest setting.
“The beautiful Fircrest Golf Course sits on 160 acres and offers terrific views,” shares Austin. The whole area provides an abundance of fir trees to enjoy, showcasing a storybook landscape that’s representative of the Pacific Northwest’s signature beauty. (Tip: You’ll want to bring your camera!)
3. Super convenient Pierce County location.
Located just 5 minutes off of Interstate-5 and even closer to Highway 16, the golf course is easy to get to no matter where you live in the region.
4. Fabulous onsite amenities.
“The 33,000-square-foot clubhouse includes a bar and dining [area] with wonderful food,” says Austin. “Additionally, the pro shop on site has great staff available to answer any questions and offer great tips!” Plus, there’s a large parking lot for your added convenience.
