Windermere Professional Partners Donates $13,487 to MultiCare Tree House

July 29, 2015

We at Windermere Professional Partners are proud to support MultiCare Tree House, and recently, we were able to contribute $13,487 in donations to the organization! Tree House is a 42-unit apartment building that has been converted into free housing for families with sick children who are being treated at Tacoma General’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Mary Bridge’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Tree House ensures that the families caring for sick children don’t have to worry about where they will sleep, eat, shower, and care for their other children while their child is being treated at the hospital. Tree House holds another special place in our hearts: Several years ago, we were able to donate $50,000 in the name of Wally Starkey (a former part-owner of WPP and loved by all!), and one of the rooms in Tree House is named after him.

What’s the Windermere Foundation?

Each time one of our REALTORS® sells a home, a portion of that commission goes to the Windermere Foundation. Once each year, we receive a portion of this amount back to spend in our local community. The Windermere Foundation was created to support assistance programs for low-income and homeless families. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation serving families in need in Washington state has grown to ten states and has raised over $23 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance and other services to those who need our help the most!

So far, contributions from Windermere real estate agents, Windermere employees, and public supporters have allowed the foundation to distribute more than two million dollars annually in recent years to nonprofit agencies who specialize in helping homeless and low-income families. We are proud to support our community as much as we can!
