The Victorian Country Christmas Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and invites you to come see why it’s the premier event for enjoying the holidays in Puyallup!

“It’s one of those events that [has] become a family holiday tradition,” shares Patience Colkitt. “It has the feel, smells and look of a postcard traditional Christmas.” Indeed, as Trish Stone points out, “...the attire is fun to look at. It aims to have that old, Victorian feeling all around, including the photos with Kris Kringle.”

Not only does this event have “folks dressed up in outfits looking like they are straight out of the play A Christmas Carol,” as Erin Dobrinski describes, but it is also “a great place to do some Christmas shopping,” she says. Whatever you may need to feel the joy of the season, you will find it and so much more here.

Here are 4 big attractions not to miss out on at the Victorian Country Christmas Festival this year, as recommended by locals:

The First Noel

For a new spin on the majestic story of the birth of Christ, check out the Singing Nativity. Each year, over 100 performers share renditions of classic Christmas carols and new anthems while dancing and acting on stage. To make things even more magical, this year at every showing of the Nativity you can win one of four packs of tickets to Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn. If you want a Christmas experience that you and your family will never forget, stop by the Holiday Jubilee Theater in the Showplex!

‘Tis the Season to be Jolly

Adults can get into the “spirit” of the season by stopping by the festival’s Winter Wine Garden. This attraction offers tastings of specialty wines, spirits, and beers, as well as the opportunity to take a bottle home to give away as a gift or just enjoy with friends and family throughout the holiday. With experts nearby to give you the best advice and gourmet food options available throughout the festival, you will find everything you’ll need to create a memorable Christmas meal! (Don't miss out on the chance to indulge in a delicious Fair Scone!)

All I Want For Christmas

Whether you’re looking for that unique gift or some new decor for the house, this festival is your perfect match! “Hundreds of local artists, small business owners, crafters, and vendors [are] at the Puyallup Fairgrounds,” says Trish. “It's a great place to get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy small business[es] locally.” If you want to support your community’s businesses and snag some great presents for everyone on your list, no place beats the Victorian Country Christmas Festival.

Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town

Finally, no Christmas celebration would be complete without the chance to take a seat on Santa’s lap. At Santa’s Village, kids of all ages (even those who are just kids at heart!) can have their pictures taken with the big man himself and let him know what they want for Christmas. If your little one enjoys the more traditional route, they can stop by the letter writing station and write a personal letter to mail up to the North Pole. With other fun treats like balloon animals and “Selfie with an Elfie” (taking place on November 30), Santa’s Village is a must for getting the most out of your Christmas festival experience.
