6 Fun Ways to Stay Active In & Near University Place

February 8, 2018

Many of us start the new year with fitness goals and the best of intentions, but it can be easy to get sidetracked! REALTORS® Debbie Homeyer, Elsa Borgen, and Chris Moody are passionate about getting fit, staying healthy, and being stress-free, and we asked her for her best workout tips in the University Place area.

Whether you love to get outside or you’re searching for a new gym to join, their recommendations offer a variety of options to ensure that no matter what you choose, you’ll never get bored!

Below, you’ll find their top UP fitness recommendations:

1. Chambers Bay

“Walking the Chambers Bay trail is one of my favorite trails to walk,” she shares. “It is not only challenging with the switch back hills, but extremely scenic with a view of the water and golf course all the way around.”

2. Tennis Courts at Curtis High School

“At Curtis High School, you have access to the tennis courts for a friendly game that will also get your heart pumping!” There is also the Curtis Aquatic Center, with open swim times and opportunities to take swim fitness classes.

3. University Place CrossFit

“If you'd like to get more from a trainer, University Place CrossFit has the friendliest staff we have ever met,” says Debbie. Whether you’re new to CrossFit or an experienced CrossFit enthusiast, there are classes for all levels!

4. Yoga at Bodhi Wellness

Need to heal from an injury? Are you an athlete training for a big event? You can find all types of offerings at Bodhi Wellness. In addition to yoga, Bodhi also offers acupuncture, massage therapy, nutritional coaching, and more.

5. Pilates Bodies in Motion

With classes offered Monday through Saturday both in the early morning and evening, you can squeeze in a Pilates session at Pilates Bodies in Motion whenever it best fits into your schedule! Click here to check out the class times.

6. Total Woman Health Studio

Total Woman has a full gym in a smaller setting,” says Debbie, making this spot perfect for those who favor a more intimate atmosphere in place of a huge gym that’s packed with people. There are tons of classes to choose from here, from dance and ZUMBA to kickboxing and aerobics. Take a look at their programs here!

“Whatever you like, the options are there, so get moving!” Thanks for all of these great recommendations, Ladies!
