"Your Success is my Highest Priority" has been the motto of REALTOR® Cathie Christie since she first started working in real estate in 1985! Cathie is interested in the success of each of her clients, and she recognizes that each person and property is unique. She loves real estate, and believes that it is a constitutional right of every citizen to own their own land, build their own homes to secure and nurture their families, and to prosper with the buying and selling of land for their own profit.

Cathie was born and raised as a local farm kid in Pierce County. She attended college around the country, was in the Women’s Army Corp during the Vietnam era, and worked as a stenographer for a Staff Judge Advocate. Cathie climbed the corporate administrative ladder in banking and large equipment manufacturing, marketed public transportation services, and specialized as a public/governmental relations liaison both in Denver and in Pierce County. People and product has always been her focus!

In 2013, Cathie joined Windermere Professional Partners after working at John L. Scott Real Estate, being a part of a small independent realty company, and working as a builder’s representative. She loves our client supportive Windermere tools, the vitality of our Windermere Professional Partners 4 office ownership, our support staff, and each of the individual agents that make up the WPP family of REALTORS®!

Currently, Cathie lives in University Place and, although she is licensed to do business in the entire State of Washington, she primarily focuses her business in the South Sound region with their great views and waterfront and Golf properties including but not limited to University Place/Fircrest, Tacoma, Steilacoom, Lakewood, DuPont, Spanaway/Graham, Puyallup, Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula where she grew up.

Cathie is an outdoor gal at heart and she loves to travel camp, fish and take her Appaloosa Gelding for long rides around our great country with the Back Country Horsemen and on historic trails like the annual Chief Joseph Ride along the Nez Perce Trail and the John Wayne Pioneer Wagons and Riders 200 mile Cross State Ride. Cathie and her Appy are also training for IMTCA Extreme Mountain Trail events in addition to Cowboy Dressage for their winter conditioning activities.

Q: What can clients expect when working with you? How do you typically communicate with them?

A: I love to establish face-to-face business relationships as often as possible with my clients… that's how I prefer to start. I will take whatever time you need to be comfortable and clear, either in person or electronically. I want us to establish a clear foundation of what you want and need for your personal residence, business or investment property (perhaps with a 1031 Exchange), your financial resources and need for additional funding, and more importantly, what else you

may need to support your property purchase or sale goals. Then I can share insights and strategies from my experience that I believe will best help you achieve your goals.

In this high-tech age, there is often the need for accelerated speed….! In our current real estate markets, time is of the essence: texts, e-mails, and electronic signatures are often the fastest and sometimes only way to win at the negotiating table, and I want us both to be fully equipped to do so.

Last but not least, humor, flexibility, vision, persistence, clear communication, and trust are vital to enjoying your success at closing time. A beloved managing broker once reminded me that a purchase and sale contract is really only a fence to establish good neighbor relations and to keep someone else's varmints from digging holes in your yard. Fences can be moved for mutual advantage, gates can be built for friendlier relationships, and it’s important to remember that the goal is to share the joyous move-in party celebration with family and friends after closing.

Q: Tell us more about the kind of real estate you specialize in! What neighborhoods do you work in?

A: I focus on single-family, condo, golf, view, waterfront and small “gentlemen farms” or equestrian type properties primarily in Pierce County, southern King County, southern Kitsap County, northern Thurston County, and occasionally Mason County in Washington. I have an extensive agent referral network around the Pacific Northwest in OR, ID, MT, and AZ as well.
