When it comes to real estate, Jim Swanson believes that it’s about YOUR goals! As a former U.S. Navy Seabee, Jim adopted their “Can-Do” motto, and he is passionate about working with his clients to ensure they succeed in meeting their real estate goals.

In 2007, Jim got his real estate license and worked with Windermere Commencement Associates from 2008 until 2011 when he joined Windermere Professional Partners, and we’re glad to say that he’s been working with us ever since! Before his career as a REALTOR®, Jim worked as a home inspector— a job that gives him an obvious edge as he’s helping clients through the process of buying and selling. In addition to serving in the U.S. Navy, Jim owned an auto glass company and worked as an Automotive Service Advisor & Manager at various dealerships.

Q: Tell us more about the kind of real estate you specialize in! What neighborhoods do you work in?

A: I tend not to work in any specific neighborhood— I work where clients need me to work, and with the dissemination of data that we have access to these days, it has never been a goal of mine to become a neighborhood expert. I generally work throughout Tacoma, Steilacoom, Lakewood, University Place, and even into Gig Harbor and Federal Way. My involvement with veterans also has me doing a fair amount of work in Spanaway, Puyallup and Graham, and occasionally even sends me to work in Lacey, Olympia and DuPont!

As far as the specific types of real estate I work with goes, I work mostly with residential real estate. This has also included short sales, “regular sales” and estate sale situations. I’ve even helped some clients buy a bed & breakfast.

Q: What can clients expect when working with you?

A: My style is friendly and professional. I love to make the house hunting or buying and selling process as fun and enjoyable as I can— no one wants to work with a pompous or stuffy person! I communicate with my clients in the best way I can, in a way that fits their needs. If they are a texter, then I text. If they prefer a phone call, then we have phone conversations, etc. In general, I do my very best to adapt to their style instead of making them adapt to mine. I try to under promise, and over deliver.
