REALTOR® Chris Burk has dreamed of creating homes for as long as he can remember. When contemplating what to do for a career (during his senior year at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock), Chris was introduced to real estate and saw huge potential. He now views creating homes in a completely different way—a way in which he can help families and friends establish and find the perfect home. After finishing his real estate schooling during his last college semester, Chris rushed back home to start his real estate career. He moved to Windermere Professional Partners when opportunity called to further enhance his career. With this huge change in companies, came huge profits and growth for his career and business. He absolutely loves helping his friends and family sell their current homes so they can upgrade or downgrade, whatever situation fits the current chapter in their lives. He is close to family and decided to invite his mother, Debbie, to join in his business venture. They work well together, each bringing their own personality to the transactions.
REALTOR® Debbie Burk has lived and worked in the Gig Harbor area since 1984, and she loves meeting new people! Debbie believes that everyone is unique and has something they want to share about themselves. She likes to find out what that is, and make a connection with everyone she meets. Debbie has over 20 years of professional experience, and her experiences in providing excellent customer service will be a great attribute in her real estate transactions—specifically her in-depth knowledge of speculative and custom construction. For the past 14 years, Debbie has owned an accounting business where she provided bookkeeping services for local small and home-based businesses. Before that, she worked as an executive secretary for four years in an Idaho high school, where she divided her time between accounting and secretarial responsibilities. After moving to Gig Harbor, she was the office manager and technical editor for 17 years at an environmental consulting firm specializing in hydrogeology. Debbie’s experiences enhance her ability to provide added value to her real estate team, clients, and associates.
Q: What can clients expect when working with you? How do you typically communicate with them?
A: Clients can expect constant communication throughout the entire buying/selling process. The joy in working with all sorts of personality types is it keeps the job interesting and exciting. We love hearing from our clients, saying that they love working with us because we have a process that we follow strictly that keeps them prepared for what’s next while they are making all the decisions. We believe that communication is a key factor in the successful completion of any transaction, and we like to relay that through all media channels. It all depends on the client. Some like email, some like Facebook. All we ask of our clients is that when it's down to the wire and it's regarding the offer, that we either meet face to face or talk on the phone.
Q: Tell us more about the kind of real estate you specialize in! What neighborhoods do you work in?
A: We deal with all residential real estate, including vacant land, new construction, resale, investment properties and much more. With that being said, we are aiming to specialize in listing and selling waterfront and luxury homes in the Gig Harbor area. The areas we specialize in are Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula, Fox Island, Tacoma, Lakewood, University Place, Fircrest, Puyallup, and Port Orchard. We have also done work outside of these areas when helping friends and family, so it is not just limited to the ones specified here.
